Dress Code

Our end of year performances are an amazing opportunity for our students to showcase what they have been working on all year long. During the year, our dancers have been training, practicing, and sweating for the moment they get to perform on the stage and revel in thunderous applause from their friends and family.

This year, our showcase will be held on May 12th and 14th  in the Kirkpatrick Auditorium on the beautiful Oklahoma City University campus.

Specific information about costumes, dress rehearsal, tickets, DVDs, and the show are available at the studio. Please contact us for more information.

Recital

Lyrical

Lyrical is defined as dancing to the lyrics while combining ballet and jazz movements. It portrays expression, emotion, and exaggerated body movements with strong technique, all done through story telling. This form of dance allows the students to freely express themselves through a variety of emotions.

Childrens' Programs

Mommy and Me is a class we offer for ages 18 months to 3 years old. While this young ones may be ready for dance, they may not be ready to leave moms and dads. In this class we allow a parent to come in the dance studio as their children learn basic ballet and tap steps.

We offer ballet and tap as a combo class to ages 3-4 or 5-7 years old. These students will learn basic dance and motor skills through a core curriculum. The tap portion will focus on basic sounds and body awareness. Ballet will include upper and lower body movement, the basic ballet positions, and rhythm.

For 5-7 year olds, we also offer a jazz and hip hop combination class. Jazz for this age will focus on basic body lines and steps, while hip hop incompasses rhythm and many urban steps.

Tap

Our tap program focuses on rhythm, sound separation, and body placement. This class will include basic steps through advanced combinations.

Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all types of dancing; because of this, we strongly recommend ballet as a pre-requisite for any other type of dance. This class will include terminology, positions, turnout, barre, center, port de bras, and combinations.

Pointe

This is for advanced ballet students only. No student will be placed in this class until being evaluated by a ballet instructor to determine if the student's muscles and technique are strong enough. This class will include terminology, positions, turnout, barre, center, port de bras, and combinations cone on pointe.

Jazz

Our jazz program emphasizes bodylines, which require a high flexible torso, a strong center, and the ability to master fast and accurate footwork. Because the basic steps of jazz are modeled after ballet, we highly recommend the student enroll for an additional ballet technique class. This class will include a variety of turns, leaps, floorwork, sharp movements, and numerous combinations.

Hip Hop

A high-energy class that uses the latest sounds in rap, R&B, and pop music with movement influenced by some of today's hottest video choreographers. Hip Hop encompasses movement that has elements of popping, locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the oppotunity to develop their own sense of style. Hip hop is urban, street diverse, and forever changing.
